Premier League top 4 odds: Hammers continue to impress

West Ham are 3/1 in bwin’s Premier League top 4 odds after upsetting Liverpool 3-2 to maintain their great start to the season.

The Hammers climbed a point above the Reds to be third in the table, level with Manchester City and three behind leaders Chelsea.

“I think we’re there on merit,” declared David Moyes. “You can see the quality and attitude of the players.

“I want us to challenge the teams in the top four, whoever that may be. I’ve laid down that challenge to the players. Hopefully, one of them could be us.”

Chelsea, City and Liverpool are still quoted at prohibitive prices to make the leading quartet but the race for the final spot is much more open.

Manchester United were as short as 3/10 before the season started but can now be backed at 4/5 after an alarming run of results.

Saturday’s 2-0 derby defeat by City made it four losses and just one win from their last six top-flight fixtures.

The Red Devils are five points adrift of fourth place and pressure is mounting on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Bruno Fernandes told MUTV: “Obviously, everyone is frustrated about the result, about the performance too.

“We know we can do much better and we know this is not enough for a player who is representing this big club. We have to look at the mirror.

“I’m saying again the same things probably from the last interview but that’s it. We just have to apologise to the fans.”

Gunners going in right direction

Arsenal are three points better off than United in fifth after beating Watford 1-0 and quoted at 3/1 in bwin’s Premier League top 4 odds.

That was a third straight league win for the Gunners, who are unbeaten in eight games in this competition since starting out with a trio of defeats.

Despite a penalty miss by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mikel Arteta was able to celebrate his 100th game in charge of the club.

“I think we’re showing a lot of commitment in every defensive action that we do, as well as organisation,” Arteta told Arsenal Media.

“Winning before the international break is always great, it keeps the momentum going, the atmosphere good with the players that have to be here – good vibes.”

Tottenham are six points off fourth and can be backed at 6/1 here after a goalless stalemate at Everton in Antonio Conte’s first league game.

“Honestly, I have to be happy for different reasons,” declared the former Chelsea boss.

“The first is that Goodison Park is not an easy place to come to play, especially after an intensive week emotionally for my players after they played the game on Thursday.

“I have to be happy because I started to see some tactical situations. For sure, we can improve and we have a lot of space for improvement tactically, physically but also mentality.

“I saw the heart of my players, the passion, the will to fight, the will to sacrifice, to understand this was a very difficult moment for us – and to see this makes me more confident for the future.”

Leicester are another point back following a 1-1 draw at Leeds and available at 12/1.
